Powerpay: Home Loan Financing For Contractors & Consumers
Product Design / Web-app Design / Design Systems
PowerPay is a pioneering digital lending platform that caters to a diverse user base, encompassing homeowners seeking home improvement financing and contractors aiming to offer loans to their clients. The challenge was to create a seamless and user-friendly experience for a wide-ranging audience, from homeowners of varying ages to contractors looking to secure more contracts and clientele.
Pay It Forward with Powerpay.
In a departure from its previous administration, Powerpay opted for a comprehensive overhaul rather than just a redesign. This strategic decision was made to streamline production efficiency. UX wise the project unfolded in three distinct phases:
Mapping the Information Architecture:
The importance of meticulously crafting the information architecture cannot be overstated, especially for a platform as intricate as Powerpay. With four distinct user types and a plethora of screens and functionalities, ensuring a clear and logical structure was pivotal to the project's success. This foundational step laid the groundwork for an intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Defining the User:
Powerpay serves as an intermediary, facilitating the lending process between homeowners and contractors. Both parties have their dedicated portals to oversee each stage of the lending journey.
Homeowners: Will have the ability to request a loan, add documents, get approved, start paying after the project is completed, and do payments from the platform.
Dealers (solo or big companies): On the other hand can see their related loans from homeowners, request loan on their own, see a project status, request money for projects, and for those who are companies or have employees under them they can manage their users, remove or add features. The platform's responsiveness empowers contractors to engage with homeowners and secure contracts efficiently, utilizing tablets for on-the-go convenience.
Crafting the User Flows:
User flows played a pivotal role in ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience. They defined how users would interact with the platform, streamlining navigation and enhancing usability. Clarifying user flows helped us design an interface that catered to the unique needs of each user type, making the platform user-friendly and efficient.
